snow

I wish you could hear the sound. I used to live in the city and I never really heard the sound of different kinds of snow. This one is a thick, dripping, wet snow. It sounds like walking on fallen dried leaves.

new bag!

I found my stuff was getting lost among little j's goldfish crackers and juice boxes.I use it for my wallet, my camera and a wristlet catch-all(lip balm, pens, barrettes). So this is just for me. Or you.

something I've been playing with

It's just a sketch. I've got this minor obsession with little houses. Little houses with legs and ladders going nowhere.
any thoughts?

Belated Valentines post

Excuse the lateness of this post. It turns out that for Valentine's Day, me and J got ridiculously sick. Horribly, kill me now, sick. Very romantic. We're slowly on the mend. I've eaten half a saltine and 3 bites of oatmeal in the last 36 hours. Hope your day was better than ours.

I've made another one. I love those klein tool bags. This is my dressed up version of them

some issues

How do you make a living from the thing you love doing? Artists have struggled with it forever. I just read a post here from cicada studio's blog, and while it didn't necessarily give me any answers, it did make me feel less alone in the world of " what are my things worth?". My things being the stuff I make.
I want people to buy my goods.
I want to offer it at a reasonable price because I strongly believe that beautiful things don't need to be expensive.
I want to feel like I'm able to make more than $5 an hour.
In the meantime, it's great to be paid to make art because, truthfully, I'd make it even if I wasn't getting paid. Right J?

a look forward

On the train, coming home from a LONG day of work, a man commented on the bouquet of flowers I managed to save from the trash. " What beautiful colors after a long dreary day" . Exactly.

old thread

We all know those old ladies who have a stash of old sewing supplies. This was some thread passed down to me that despite it's inability to work as thread- it snaps with any tension- I can't seem to throw away. I'm thinking about a project with thread where thread doesn't work as thread. Any suggestions?
